Create your own comedy characters and develop a 5-7 minute act in eight weeks with coaching from renowned character comedian, Charlie Vero-Martin.* Then perform it on the Museum of Comedy stage - home of Sketch Off, the UK’s biggest sketch and character comedy competition!
This course is open to new and experienced acts. Perfect for those looking to take their first steps into character comedy or wanting to find new approaches and creations. Through a range of techniques from improv, clowning, stand-up and theatre, Charlie will guide you in how to develop your act in a fun and supportive environment. You will also learn from other industry professionals.
Previous special guests include Mark Silcox, Adam Larter, Alex Hardy and Su Mi. Participants have gone on to perform their acts regularly on the alt-comedy circuit, as part of award-winning shows, at the Edinburgh Fringe and compete in finals of comedy competitions.
*Charlie is a comedian, actor, writer and improviser known for her four multi-character comedy shows. She was a Sketch Off and Funny Women Finalist with credits including BBC Scotland, Radio 4 and Hat Trick Productions. She has taught for Central School of Speech and Drama, Hoopla Impro and Soho Theatre.
